Processing Time and Costs

Taking into account the procedural steps (recognition, approval and visa procedures) and the associated binding deadlines, the accelerated procedure usually takes approximately four months. If a certification recognition notice is available before applying (partial or full equivalency), the procedure may shorten accordingly.

Costs:
The State Reception Authority charges a fee of €411 upon concluding the agreement. The skilled worker is the official fee payer, but the employer can assume the costs with a declaration of cost coverage.

Additional costs include:

1. The process of recognition of foreign qualifications
2. The issuance of a license to practice or approbation, if applicable
3. Visa processing abroad

These fees must be paid additionally by the skilled worker directly to the responsible authorities.
Further costs can arise during the entire immigration process such as document authentication, translation, or verification, for example.
